يؤكد التقرير الوطني الثالث للأهداف التنموية للألفية الذي أعد بالتعاون ما بين الحكومة السورية، ممثلة بهيئة تخطيط الدولة والوزارات المعنية، ومنظمات الأمم المتحدة في سورية بقيادة برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، على التزام حكومة الجمهورية العربية السورية بإعلان الأمم المتحدة للألفية. لقد شكل التقريران الوطنيان الأول والثاني لأهداف التنمية الألفية والصادران في 2003 و 2005 على التوالي، مصدرا لبيانات قيمة ساهمت بفعالية في دعم متخذ القرار بمعلومات و بيانات على مستوى عال من الدقة والتنوع، ويأتي هذا التقرير ليتمم هذه المهمة.

Situation Analysis of Early Childhood Development In Syria(publication)
The Syrian Commission for Family Affairs (SCFA) and the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) are pleased to present this analytical study on early childhood care and development in Syria to parents, as well as practitioner in state and private sector institutions responsible for the well-being and care of young children. The analysis covers the fields of health, nutrition, education, and protection as well as discusses information, cultural, and other services. This study is our contribution to identifying the characteristics of the current situation— its positivem and negative aspects— and the most pressing development needs, with the aim of helping stakeholders and decision-makers in early childhood matters continue to fine-tune ongoing effective programmes. The study also hopes to help and inspire them to introduce new programmes and projects that will improve early childhood care and development, as well as ensure the fulfilment of the rights and needs of today’s children—who will be the men and women of tomorrow.
